SEP Training & Simulation solutions
Safety & Emergency Training simulations for airline cabin & flight crews.
Every member of both commercial cabin and flight crew has to be trained not only in the general operation of the aircraft cabin but reassuringly what to do and how to deal with any emergency situations arising. Some airlines however train to higher and more realistic levels than others and we have been helping crew training to achieve this since 2007 when British Airways approached us with an idea.
By coupling our creative software skills with lighting, theatrical smoke special effects and our simulation control systems we can produce fully controllable, integrated simulations for aircraft realistic fuselages across a variety of commercial airliner platforms.
To date we have provided or are delivering training solutions for:
- Airbus Generic
- Airbus A320
- Airbus A380
- Boeing Generic
- Boeing 737
- Boeing 747
- Boeing 757
- Boeing 777
Although all of these systems can be delivered for other manufacturers aircraft and systems.
Since that first project we have now developed cabin crew training systems which every day train not only British Airways crew but the crews for other airlines, including Quantus, Air Canada and United Airlines.
Aircraft Door: Normal and Cabin Emergency Operation
By embedding our software and controls into an existing trainer we can build upon the standard door operation training and include emergency scenarios such as door jam, emergency evacuation and also provide embedded video in the door windows.
- Normal operation and use.
- Door systems failure training
- Emergency scenario training
Aircraft Cabin Systems
In order to train cabin crew in the normal day-to-day operations of respective aircraft cabin systems we can provide simulations of:
- Lighting controls
- Smoke & Fire Systems
- EVAC System
- Seating electrical and entertainment systems
Cabin & Flight Crew Interphone Training
Based on either an Airbus or Boeing Interphone system and customised to individual airline or aircraft
- Interphone operation and standard, in flight, use.
- PA operation and practice
- Interphone station and flight deck communications failure and practice
Cabin Crew Training for Fire and Safe Evacuation Procedure(SEP)
Training crew how to handle emergencies is a fundamental requirement of the CAA and FAA. Making that training as realistic as possible, while not endangering the crew themselves, could be the difference between life and death if that crew ever have to perform an evacuation for real.
Using stage lighting effects and smoke machines, combined with state of the art controls that allow training staff touch screen controls over the scenarios, i3m has successfully delivered fire and evacuation simulations covering:
- Galley Fire
- Seat Fire
- Toilet Fire
- Overhead Locker Fire
Training simulation solutions other than commercial airlines
The principles of realistic disaster training in a safe environment can be applied to any application where operatives need hands on emergency training. We have more recently discussed applications including both Off Shore Oil & Gas Drilling and Marine simulation.
